Faded Love and Enduring Memory
Early this week, I shot my first compositional piece using brand-new strobes. To do this, I built a mini-studio set on my dining room table. This was necessary since the space I plan to use for my studio is still not quite ready. The mini-studio set consisted of a white textured foam board, two small black acrylic canvases, and the set pieces that formed the composition. While it was not the ideal setup, it still allowed me to take the shot, which was shared to Instagram shortly after post-processing was finished.
A description of the three images follows:
“Being that the Easter holiday has past, I found some time to attempt my first compositional pieces, even-though my studio space and setup is still incomplete. The three pieces utilize a dried and dead multicolored rose and its stem, paired with a single gold candelabra that forms a heart for its base. A white textured surface was used for additional contrast around the composition. The black background is a nod to the darker side of the composed pieces.”If you would like to see all three images, they can be viewed on Instagram here.
